What made you want to be a part of in-home hospice and euthanasia?
As a devoted pet parent myself, I have experienced the pain of loss, and unfortunately had a less than ideal euthanasia experience myself several years back. I believe euthanasia is a gift, and when implemented properly, can be a beautiful and honoring experience to relieve pain and suffering in our beloved animal companions. I've spent a good amount of my career thus far in general practice, and have always felt very strongly about helping each one of my patients have a happy and full life, for as long as that is possible. Starting Solace Veterinary Care is huge for me because I can still contribute to that happy and full life for senior patients, but it also allows me to help facilitate a peaceful and dignified passing when it is time.

What made you want to be a part of in-home hospice and euthanasia?
That's a complicated question...I was first introduced to the joy of pet ownership when I married Julia and she had (only!!) one dog and one cat at the time. Our family grew four paws at a time over the last 12 years to our current number of 3 dogs, 2 cats and 1 horse, and with that grew my knowledge and heart for veterinary medicine. Seeing Julia's passion for excellent medicine for her patients, and deep empathy for their owners has been inspiring. I am excited to support her endeavors to the best of my non-medical background!
While my support is primarily behind the scenes, you may see me in the field if Julia (aka Dr. Jordy!) is in need of an extra set of hands, doing my best to love on and care for your pets as though they were my own.
